Oktoberfest with ESN

O'zapft is!

 

"O'zapft is!" is bavarian expression, meaning ‘it’s tapped’. At noon on the first day of Oktoberfest, the Mayor of Munich traditionally taps the first keg of beer, exclaiming the above phrase, which marks the official opening of the festival.

 

The original OKTOBERFEST in Munich is not only one of the oldest traditions of the German culture, it is also the world’s largest beer festival, and a unique celebration in central Europe. But besides it being a tradition for the inhabitants of Bavaria and the rest of Germany, it has also become an established ESN Bologna trip - the first trip to kick off an epic exchange semester!

 

We leave early in the morning by bus to Munich, Bavaria, where we will spend the whole day drinking beer, walking around in lederhosen/dirndls, drinking beer, eating traditional German food, and oh did we mention drinking beer?

 

Our bus will take you from BOLOGNA to the Theresienwiese (where the octoberfest is located). And then, (only for the strong people ) there will be an afterparty in the evening with many erasmus students from all over the Europe!!!!

 

The afterparty will be in "Jack Rabbit club" and then we will take you back home during the next night. The afterparty at "Jack Rabbit" starts at 10.30 p.m. only for 8 euros!

 

For the ones who don't want go to the party, they can stay there drinking or enjoying the city center of Munich!
